Forming one of a class of similar instruments usually designated “Planimeters,” and standing midway between the simple Planimeter with its limited range and restricted field of operation and the complicated and costly Integraph and like instruments, the Polar Planimeter can advisedly be said to be adapted to the solution of almost every problem arising in the Engineer's practice.
