Larry's DATE 2008 Trip (8)
Thursday night I continued taking a walk
around Munich. The picture above is of Altes Rathaus (Old Town
Hall) on the left and Spielzeugmuseum (the toy museum) which is the
tower in the center. In this picture looking east, you can also
see the steeple of Heiliggeistkirche capped in green to the right.
 |
The above picture is of the steeple of
Heiliggeistkirche (Holy Ghost Church) approaching from the south and
looking north. This picture was taken on a very narrow old lane that
had restaurants in all the storefronts.
 |
The picture above is at Marienplatz (Mary's
Place) looking back at Neues
Rathaus (New Town Hall) again. You can see the two towers of
Frauenkirche behind the building on the left. Just to the left of
towers and in front of the building is Mariensaule (Mary's Column), a
monument with a golden statue of the Virgin Mary at the top.
 |
The picture above is looking up at the front
of Frauenkirche (Our Lady's Church). It is a very large church built
around 1500. To get enough light for these night pictures, the camera
shutter had to stay open a long time, so I had to brace the camera
against a lamppost or something.
