Larry's DATE 2008 Trip (3)
Above pictured is Neues Rathaus which
means New Town Hall. It is the center of the city. In the tower
about half way up to the clock is the glockenspiel (framed in green)
which has moving figures that enact a medieval story at 11 AM, but I
was never there to see that.
 |
This picture, above, is another view of Neues
Rathaus. You can see how big the building is. Here in front
of the building is Marienplatz (Mary's Place), the main town square.
 |
The above movie is panning around Marienplatz
from Neues
Rathaus (the New Town Hall) to Altes Rathaus (the Old Town Hall). To
see
this movie
you may need to enable an option in your browser. After I took this
movie I ate dinner
around the corner at Donisl, a traditional Bavarian restaurant. I
had beer, of course, and a small portion of roast beef and bread
dumplings
with gravy. For dessert I had a gigantic bowl of apple streudel
swimming in vanilla sauce.
